Birthmarks

Birthmarks can cause significant emotional distress for both patients and their families. These marks occur due to an overgrowth of cells that produce either blood vessels (vascular) or pigment (pigmented). While they may rarely carry a risk of bleeding or cancer, our laser treatments can safely remove both types of marks with very minimal scarring. Our team has extensive experience in performing these procedures and can even treat infants as young as a few weeks old. Multiple sessions may be required, and once clearance is achieved, occasional maintenance treatments may be necessary. In certain situations, surgical removal of birthmarks may be the best option. In these cases, our team can perform the procedure in stages to minimize the appearance of the final scar.
